The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon

26.2 miles. 15 neighborhoods. 45,000 runners. Sounds like the 30th annual LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon to me.

It was truly inspiring to see everyone out there running, walking, cheering. There was even a Chicago firefighter in full firefighting gear taking part! There were older people, young people, the fit and the not-so-fit, all taking part in this annual event.

The marathon usually lasts about 8 hours (8am-4pm) to give everyone a chance to complete the course. Unfortunately, because it was nearly 90 degrees today with 80 percent humidity, the marathon was called off 4 hours and 10 minutes into the race.

End transmission.
